Attabad Lake

Attabad Lake is located in Gojal Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The lake was created in January 2010 after a massive landslide blocked the Hunza River, causing the river to back up and form the lake.

The landslide resulted in the displacement of thousands of people from the surrounding area and significant economic losses, as the Karakoram Highway, the main transport route between Pakistan and China, was also blocked.
